o0 Grizz 0o: my supervisor was all like: "here... here's your to-do list"
o0 Grizz 0o: me: "i have a to do list....?"
o0 Grizz 0o: her: "yeah.. it looks like a lot... but it's not... just make sure these are in the bins"
o0 Grizz 0o: me: "um.. what if they're not...? should I panic...? run around like a chicken with its head cut off, while flailing my arms in bloody gore...?"
o0 Grizz 0o: her: "no... don't cut off your head, silly... you need it"
o0 Grizz 0o: ...haha..

I feel funny.

Maybe I shouldn't have. I dunno what came over me.

Maybe it's just a phase... yeah, that's it.

Idno what to do... =\

For the most part, it puts a smile to my face, but also in a way, it makes me sad.

Why is there no one on? So boreeeeeedd..... then again.. most people are asleep... or waking up by now.... maybe I should try that. Finished the project..

New projects this week:

box design
museum brochure
cd booklet
superman underpainting

Music keeps me company... keeps me sane... keeps me able.

I'm gonna try sleeping...

ok.. that didn't work...

my family's bugging me... they do things without doing any research. They don't know how to take care of this dog. baka baka baka! Now they want to take it back???? I didn't get myself too attached... but really... I hate them for doing that... that's messed up. It's almost like adopting a child from an orphanage, then returning it.. BLAH... I'm not talking to them.

ok.. trying again...

I tend to work better alone. It really sucks when you put a lot of time and effort into something, then have the person you're counting on not do their part or bail altogether. The deadline's tomorrow, and all I can do is stay up to TRY to do 2 weeks work with what little time I have left. Thanks. Thanks for nothing, jackass.

First time this quarter I'm gonna be pulling an all-nighter. I find it odd, considering I normally sleep around 4-6 am, and saying I'm pulling an all-nighter. Eh, whatever. Kinda looking forward to it, actually. I have a feeling I'll be doing it a lot during break... hehehe... Anyways, really nothing to say tonight. Go listen to some Vienna Teng. Good stuff :)

So... I came home from work, to find a new family member added to the lineup. Meet "Val" (short for Valentine), our new 2-year old siberian husky:

Apparently, she's been in the pound for nearly 2 months.. hasn't had a bath in 2 months either. Slowly but surely, we're getting her all clean. Looks like my room's been freshly marked as a her territory... so 'scuse me while I clean that up.

Haha.. don't ask why I'm listening to this song. It's so catchy. I remember hearing it a few years ago, just never really got around to downloading it.

Sweet.. got some new headphones (not ear phones.. yay) and an optical mouse for my laptop. Yeah, it's only got one button, but whatever. I love how these macintosh optical mice look... so simple yet futuristic; plus, it saves me 50 bucks.

Got a perfect score on my ad campaign presentation and my logo design... kinda happy about that. I noticed that people stress way too much about midterms. Take it easy, man... lay back, relax, and let osmosis do its work. Ever since I started attending this school, I've been doing less and less studying... yet my test scores and grades have steadily been going up. I'm not complaining :)

Waiting sucks... I want my computer =\

Bluetooth technology's looking good... wireless everything would be nice. No ugly cords and wires everywhere.

So bored... I did all my homework yesterday before I went to work... but when I got to work, I noticed that I wasn't on the list that day. turns out I work NEXT tuesday. Oops.. that leaves me with nothing to do but look at things I can't have.

I've got nothing else to say.

begins the first line of I'ma Robot's song "Dynomite"... I must say, some parts faintly remind me a little bit of Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy". Growing up, I hated the 80's. I hated New Wave, I hated Devo, I hated the bright colors and ripped jeans. Mid - 90's were my most prevalent influences... No Doubt, Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, Beck, Nada Surf, Superdrag, Soundgarden... wow, a lot of "S" bands, heh. Well, I forgot what point I was trying to make... something about me liking the 80's again... blah.

After revising the setup I wanted over and over, I think I've finished. I didn't have too much to spend, but I wanted a decent system to run games on. I only planned on spending around 800, but that 1 GB DDR memory was so tempting, and I didn't want to sacrifice the Video Card. It was pretty much useless to try to bring it to that price without endangering quality. What it came down to was eliminating the Audigy sound card. I can survive with on-board audio for now. Here are the specs if you feel like peeking: http://stu.aii.edu/~cc307/cpu/cpu.html

Might have to add a keyboard to that list, but I really don't mind using the apple pro, since it's pretty attractive anyway. The Radeon card comes with Half Life 2, so all I really need to get is Final Fantasy XI and Warcraft III. Unreal and Tribes come secondary. I've never owned a PC before, so this is kind of exciting and new to me. My macintoshes have deprived me of something called... a video game. (I'm done with console systems...)

Since I started reading up on this stuff, I haven't been able to sleep. I've been reading review after review, how-to guides, and all sorts of neat stuff that I've never bothered looking at before. My god I've been missing out on so much. It's opened up another row in my brain; a row which I've not sorted through... and it intrigues me ever more so as each day goes by. I feel like I can sleep for now... while I wait for my check to roll into the bank ^_^...zzzzz..ZZZZz..zzz..

Thanks to Bao, Ryan, Richard, Phong, Phil, and James for their input.

oh man... I couldn't breathe when I first saw this... hahahaha... mighta woken up everyone upstairs. Anyways... haha... penguin....
Okay... now that that's out of my system...

I had to go watch "Fog of War" today at the UCI center. I felt so out of place. Everyone in the theater was over 50 and totally into the whole war thing. I must say, however, that it was pretty good. Despite nodding off for about 20 minutes between 3:15 and... whenever I woke up. I hope I wasn't snoring. Man.. check out that penguin! hahaha... So this secretary of defense guy, McNamara.. Now that I look at it, that penguin's digitally put in. It's so great!

I got more hours at work, which I'm happy about. However, there go my Tuesdays. You can either check out the new schedule, or look at that penguin again:

Mon: homework
Tue: work 2-11 (or 6-11)
Wed: class 11:30 - 9:30
Thu: homework/errands/class 5:30 - 9:30
Fri: homework/errands/class 5:30 - 9:30
Sat: class 12 - 5, work 6 - 11
Sun: work 2-11

doesn't leave me much time to do other stuff =\ (cept maybe to look at that .gif again... lol)

The new computer dilemma:

I've managed to go down from 1200 to ~900...
what'd I change?
-Downgraded from 650W power supply to 450
-512 MB DDR instead of 1 GB
-80 GB HD instead of 160

It should be good for its purposes...
hehe... linux uses the penguin as a logo...

Today went by pretty smoothly.. got a wake up call from an insurance company. They somehow got a copy of an old resumé I posted online, and they asked me questions and whatnot. I got all excited at first, then realized that what they wanted me to do was to sell insurance to union members. It's not as bad as telemarketers, since the people I'd be calling were already clients, but they wanted me to go to San Diego for the interview on Wed, which means I'd be missing 2 classes. Missing those 2 classes would be over $200 down the drain, so I declined... even though they paid well, it wasn't something I was interested in doing.

I had no idea what to do for my Typography project. The criteria was to use syntax in an environment. Originally, I had planned to do it on promoting safe sex, but it really wasn't interesting. The mood didn't strike any chords for me. Then, I saw my phone on the wall. It's merely for decoration (WWII vintage replica), because I don't use the house phone and I accidentally destroyed the phone jack. Anyways, there was a shadow cast on it, and the cord was just dangling. I figured... why not promote a suicide hotline? Dangling cord, disconnected phone line, it seemed to work in my head. I still need to get the hang of lighting arrangements. I'm happy with the photo results though. Here's the final product:

It envoked a much stronger presence within me, and I figure it'll make more of an impact than the durex poster I had made before.

After I finished that, I headed to LHM to visit Laura and Alea. I had to make two trips, since I forgot the cds I was supposed to burn off of. I stayed there for about 2 hours just chatting and burning cds. I now have a copy of Static Lullaby and Taking Back Sunday. Thanks Laura :]

Can't wait for painting class for some reason... the last painting I did (not of the mouth... but a newer one I haven't posted) somewhat pushed my inspiration to paint more. Blah... damn you, time!

Now... for some geekness. With Bao's help, I compared the Alienware Area 51 machine vs. a machine that bao had made up using parts from the web. At half the price, he was able to put together parts that were equal to or better than the ones that came with the Area 51. The only difference being that the A51 has a 2.8 GHz Processor, while ours had 2.6. The difference isn't really noticable though. Good times. You can disregard the following... it's just a checklist of what I need and a note to self.
------------------
-GIGABYTE 875P Chipset Motherboard for Intel Socket 478 CPU, Model "GA-8IK1100"
-Intel Pentium 4/ 2.6C GHz 800MHz FSB, 512K Cache, Hyper Threading Technology
-Enermax CS-10181-B (Black)Server Case,12- Bay ATX Entry Server Tower Screwless Entry w/ Locks
-ENERMAX EG651P-VE(FMA). 550W Power supply(with Copper Shielding for better EMI reduction) for AMD K7 & Pentium4

-ATI RADEON 9600XT Video Card, 128MB DDR, 128-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP
-Western Digital 160GB 7200RPM IDE Hard Drive, Model WD1600JB, OEM Drive Only

-TOSHIBA 16X DVD-ROM, Model SD-M1802, OEM Drive Only
-(optional) Corsair XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series, Low Latency (Twin Pack) 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200
-(optional) Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 PCI Sound Card, Model "SB0244"

------------------

I'm done.

I started to prepare my tax return, and I'm happy with the return I'm going to be getting back. :] With it, I can get that PC I wanted... OR... I can finish paying off my laptop. My responsible side wants to pay off the laptop, but the idea of actually owning a PC with my Macintosh is getting the better part of me. :[

I didn't really like Postal Service when I first heard them, but it's grown on me. It reminds me of Freezepop, but with lyrics that actually make sense... Nintendocore~! Deep... hey, that'd be a neat pornstar name: "Johnny Deep"

Other than that... I have nothing else to say. Other than... this guy just smoked 159 cigarettes at once. Crazy

Bad times. This quarter's been pretty much overwhelming. I can only look forward to the fact that it's halfway over. There's always this patter I go through, where I want school to start when I'm not there, then want it to end when I get halfway through it. It's a cycle, and as my college career reaches its halfway mark, it'll probably continue this way. I should be finished by the time I hit 21. Unless I decide to slow down a lil. I do look forward to start working somewhere relavant soon though.

I've started to teach myself programs that I've always wondered about. I've explored the macintosh quite a bit, but the following piece of art is very tempting:

I want one... mainly because I don't wanna play FFXI on a PS2. (bad posture to play in front of the tv with a keyboard...? just seems uncomfortable) Not only that, but then I can finally play around with 3D Studio Max and Maya.. always wanted to try those, but the macintosh hardly seems like a viable platform for anything like that... for now anyway. Not that I don't love my macintosh, but there's just nothing to play on it. Besides... there's no FFXI for mac. I've heard horror stories about Alienware, however... but I'm willing to give them a try... I've also heard of Falcon... any other ones I don't know about?

Introversion Promulgate... It's all I can look to now. My motivations and hope's been rapidly sinking. I have no religion, therefore I bare faith upon myself. I don't have faith in a supreme being, but I have faith in myself... that's all that matters to me.

Savvy.

There's an aroma of confusion in the air. Ambiguity has struck a chord, and I'm not sure how to take it. Keeping in touch has never really been a problem for me, and I understand that sometimes people just drift away from each other. I admit, I'm capable of drifting, even on purpose sometimes. There were some connections that I wanted to keep alive, but it looks like those are deteriorating as well. I'm kind of disappointed, and maybe a little hurt, but hey, I can't control the way things work all the time.

Anyways, moving on from that note.... and we're off.

Savvy?
